The Festival du Merveilleux; a magical outing
The young ones love this festival and adults find their own inner child there. The Festival du Merveilleux is a celebration of the performance arts, skills and shows that are most often associated with the fairground and the circus. Puppets act out delightful scenarios while storytellers narrate old tales to the sound of haunting music. Magicians baffle your senses and jugglers, acrobats, tightrope walkers and aerial dancers make you gasp in amazement at their prowess. You will also be enthralled by mechanical music, optical illusions and operatic automatons.
A dream setting in a fascinating place
The festival takes place in the enchanting Pavillons de Bercy. Here, you can discover not only the Museum of Fairground Arts, but also three themed spaces on the same site; the Théâtre du Merveilleux, a giant cabinet of curiosities; the Venetian Salons, a reconstruction of a typically Venetian setting where you can watch a show; and the Magic Mirror, a circular room of mahogany and bevelled mirrors dating from the 1920s. The rest of the year these are only accessible by reservation, so enjoy them while you can. The Christmas holidays will be magical during your stay at the Hotel Eiffel Blomet.
