An homage to Charlotte Perriand at the Vuitton Foundation
Her name may not be well known to the general public, but Charlotte Perriand is undoubtedly one of the most emblematic and also most endearing figures of 20th century French design. Boasting an excellent location in the heart of the 15th arrondissement, the Hotel Eiffel Blomet is the perfect base from which to discover the fascinating Charlotte Perriand exhibition presented at the Fondation Vuitton until February 24th, 2020.
A celebration of harmony at the Charlotte Perriand exhibition
Charlotte Perriand designed countless pieces of furniture and other projects, and in doing so gave birth to a new way of life. From the beginning of the 30s, this passionate designer strove to revolutionise the furniture of her time, using all kinds of industrial materials such as metal tubes. Her goal was to create furniture with an aesthetic that was stripped-down but never austere, which everyone could use and adapt to their own living environment. The exhibition traces the pioneering designer’s rich history and travels around the world, highlights her various collaborations with Le Corbusier but, above all, demonstrates her originality and profound modernity.
A dreamy day in the west of Paris
